Summerland II

"A cozy view of a little micro-pocket on the Pacific Coast" My first attempt at reproducing a painting from a large piece to a smaller format, this 9x12 oil on canvas "Summerland II" was painted from the original "Summerland" 18x24 per the request of a collector. I think it's a successful painting, in fact my patron prefers it to the original.

  1. How fun!!

AND how wonderful that you have a collector who loves your work.... Does he/she also own the larger one or did they see it on your website??

  2. Thanks Marian, I enjoyed painting them both. And my wonderful patrons found the image of the original on my website.

  4. Nice job Steve. It reminds me of Wayne Thiebaud's landscapes. It's also one of the prettiest views on the drive home from SB. The light on that particular outcrop of land is always amazing.

  5. Nice work, Steve. What a fun piece! That scene is special to me: my husband and I got engaged at the Big Yellow House around 33 years ago!
